Royal Versailles Ball Gowns, Crowns & Lockdowns
After a 2 year wait it was time to dust off those tiaras! The annual Royal Versailles Ball was upon us and this year we had many gorgeous gowns lucky enough to go to the ball.

Attire for the Royal Versailles Ball dress code is always White Tie, the most formal of dress codes, but as long as dresses meet the floor and are not too revealing you can really have fun with it.
A real-life Cinderella story; you know what that means, ladies – ball gowns! Our dresses made it all over the Palace, from the spectacular Hall of Mirrors and Palace Ballroom to the audacious Gardens of Versailles, our ladies all had the most magnificent adventure. I think Lady Whistledown would have been proud of you!

It was so much fun! Such an exciting event and a chance for the ladies to wear ballgowns meant the appointments were full of smiles. One Night Stand dressed 25 beautiful women for the event. 25 different shapes, sizes and anxieties! It was so important to find dresses that made each of them look gorgeous from the outside but also made them feel wonderful on the inside.
Dresses had to be floor length gowns and had to be exactly the right length to dance their reels with ease. Dresses with straps would help energetic dancers avoid any wardrobe accidents!
If you are looking for a dress for the next Royal Versailles Ball, I would advise you to book an appointment in advance so that any alterations can be done. Although everyone was super-happy with their gowns, in some cases it limited their choice if something was too long and there was insufficient time to change it. We need about 10 days.
The Royal Versailles Ball is held every May to commemorate the 1855 visit by Queen Victoria to Emperor Napoléon III at the Palace of Versailles. UNICEF, Street Child and LEWA Wildlife Conservancy are some of the beneficiaries.
I was very grateful that the cost of the dress hire covered the fact that I needed it for an extended time since I was travelling abroad. I loved matching the opulent gold detailing of The Palace of Versailles.

The Original Royal Versailles Ball

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were invited for a state visit by Napoleon III in August 1855 to celebrate the military alliance between Britain and France in the Crimean War. Held in the Hall of Mirrors, there were 1,200 guests, four orchestras, hundreds of chandeliers and garlands of flowers. A fireworks display was held after the dinner, followed by another ball, which carried on until 3 am.
The sumptuous reception was a great success.
